Vanessa Hudgens must have missed the red carpet and went straight to the Captain America premiere on July 19 after her movie wrapped up in New Jersey. Wearing a nude colored cocktail dress and showing off her new short hair, Vanessa looked absolutely stunning in the event.

After a long silence from filming her new movie Gimme Shelter, which will be out next year, she and her sister had a bonding time in the streets of Studio City riding a bycicle on July 19, 2011. The lovely starlet is all smiles hiding her new hair under a cap. Still getting used to it, but her lovely face can totally bring any hairstyle. Check out the photos in the gallery:

Vanessa Hudgens is still getting used to her new short hairdo, a cut that is making the young star feel well beyond her years.

“Oh man, it’s really intense. I’m still getting used to it,” she said of her new short hair, which she cut for her upcoming movie, “Gimme Shelter.”

“Honestly, I kind of feel like a soccer mom, but we’re going to let that go,” she explained to Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Monday’s Access Hollywood Live. “There’s nothing wrong with soccer moms, but I’m only 22!”

The actress was excited to take on the role – a character she referred as a “dream” – regardless of the style sacrifice.

“I play this girl, who’s like homeless and she doesn’t care about her look very much. I kind of look like a boy throughout the whole movie,” Vanessa explained.

When it came to hacking off her long locks, the actress and director Ron Krauss took matters into their own hands.

“I grabbed the scissors and started cutting my actual hair and then my director decided that he was going to grab the scissors, he grabs a chunk of my hair and just chops it,” she explained.

Adding, “I miss [my hair,] believe me, I do, but there’s nothing I can do about it.”

Vanessa Hudgens looked absolutely shocking as photos during her filming of Gimme Shelter emerged online today. It’s her in character as a teen pregnant who was abandoned by her father played by Brandon Fraser. With eyebrow and lip piercing, heavy and baggy clothing, cropped hair and added weight, it’s not like the Vanessa we’re used to see. This movie is definitely something to watch out. The new movie Gimme Shelter, starring Vanessa Hudgens and Brendan Fraser, has been pretty stealth since it started filming last month.

The movie was originally set to be filmed in Michigan, but ended up filming in the Tri-State area with locations in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey.

Yesterday the movie was filming at the Airmont Diner in Airmont, NY. We also heard of a few Brendan Fraser sightings in Connecticut last week, where they’ve also shot scenes, but other than that, we’ve learned about where they’ve been filming.

On Monday, Vanessa updated her Facebook page, confirming the shoot was coming to an end:

Hey guys, what’s happenin? I have been so stupidly busy working on Gimme Shelter. I’m so excited and proud of the work I’ve been doing and let me tell you, you all are going to be SHOCKED with how I look in this movie. It’s crazy sauce. Lol only one more week of shooting till I’m done! Xx V

In the movie she plays a teen who is turned away by her father (Fraser) after she becomes pregnant.

Today and tomorrow the film moves to Newark, NJ for the final two days of shooting. Be sure to be on the look out for them and let us know if you spot them!

Gimme Shelter hits theaters next year.
